Now recruiting teachers for NID's Teacher Network
Philadelphia 3rd through 8th grade teachers are eligible to apply
Need in Deed is now recruiting Philadelphia 3rd through 8th grade teachers for our 2010-2011 Teacher Network. To download an application, click on the red link below.
The NID Teacher Network is a community of teachers committed to using NID's My Voice service-learning framework to advance the achievement of goals for their students, including:
- improved behavior
- improved attendance
- improved discussion and critical thinking skills
- positive perceptions of their teachers
- a sense of belonging in the classroom
- improvements in their ability to work together
- a belief that they can make a difference in their community
Network membership is determined through a selective application process. Once accepted, teachers agree to attend monthly workshops on effective service-learning methods and to conduct a service-learning project using the My Voice framework.
