Thanks to Eden Kratchman and our good friends at ACE, Need in Deed teachers, staff, board and other special guests enjoyed a pre-holiday celebration on Dec. 4th at ACE’s corporate headquarters at 4th and Chestnut Streets.
The Teacher Soirée is an annual get together where members of NID’s Teacher Network socialize and share stories about their students’ service-learning projects. Close to 70 guests enjoyed this year’s event.
First-year Network member Leslie Greenberg, who teaches 8th grade special education at Jay Cooke Elementary, in Logan, received NID’s “web award” for the story she submitted about her students’ project. Teachers who win the award, given out four times a year, receive $150 to pay for expenses related to their project. A story about their project is featured on NID’s home page.
Eden Kratchman, Executive Director of the ACE Charitable Foundation, praised the dedication and creativity of NID teachers in her welcoming comments.
